  • Negar Nazari’s MSc research was selected as the Outstanding MSc research at the C&PE departmentand School of Engineering, April, 2017.
  • Negar Nazari’s oral presentation was ranked number 2 in the whole school of engineering GEA competitions, April 24, 2017.
  • IHS donated a 4.1 million dollar worth of licenses for their software products to Barati's Group to be used for teaching and research purposes ( August 2016)
  • Kristina Hansen, junior undergraduate student, conducted a research under Barati's supervision which won the first prize at the Future Petroleum Engineering Forum in China, May 2016.
  • Sherifa Cudjoe received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award at C&PE, April, 2016.
  • In-kind donation of $29,919,258.00 worth of software to Barati's research group by Schlumberger (2016)
  • Barati organized and hosted the 12th International Symposium on Reservoir Wettability and its Effects on Oil Recovery at the Oread Hotel, Lawrence, KS on October 7-8 of 2015. Nearly 70 researchers attended the symposium, which has drawn visitors from as far away as China, Norway, France and Brazil. 
  • Nishkriya Kalyanaraman’ s poster presentation was selected as the second top poster in the KU’s Sigma Xi Graduate Research Competition, May 4, 2015.
  • Cameron Arnold’s research was selected as a recipient of the Undergraduate Research Award and his research was selected for presentation during the research days at the State Capitol, 2015.
  • In-kin donation of a Dynamic Fluid Loss system as well as a Fracture Conductivity measurement system to Barati's group (2014&2015)
  • Levi Swartz’s received the Undergraduate Research Award for his research proposal to work with our group, 2014.
